100 Visitors to the Biennial Immortalized

visitors to the Biennial were given free 15 minute pencil portraits. Visitors
were asked to fill out questionnaires evaluating the success or failure
of their portraits. The portraits and questionnaires were exhibited
at the Park Avenue Armory where the portraits were drawn. At
the end of the exhibition, all the portraits were scanned and the
originals sent to the project participants. To take part, visitors
had to sign up on the Whitney Museum website on a first come/first
served basis. Walk-ins were accepted when signed up participants
failed to show up.
