The Inevitable Failure of Restoration

       
      A video installed in a wooden frame in which the artist attempts to recreate the original Herter Brother’s hand-painted wallpaper from 1880 in the Park Avenue Armory’s Reception Room which has been covered in green paint and is now only visible in small area’s revealed by Paul Haydon’s 1992 exploration of the room’s original decor.  
       
         
      The artist paints in oils for 45 minutes only to have the wallpaper burst into flames and burn away.
