TECH SPECIAL EFFECTS (1999-2000)
Painting used to be the only place you could go to see the impossible.
Now you just go to the movies. But anyone can still make special effects.
All you need is a polaroid camera – another form of representation
whose appeal that like painting is primarily nostalgic. Of course, the
only thing really special about these special effects is that they’re
painting – painting itself as a special effect.
Fifteen panels, oil on board, each panel 22” x 26”
